Parks in Kersal, Pendleton & Charlestown
Within the Kersal, Pendleton and Charlestown area Charlestown Park and Littleton Road Playing Fields provide the major venue for formal sports. The location of Buile Hill Park, Peel Park and David Lewis Recreation Ground on the boundary of this area have historically provided extra facilities that continue to prove popular with the many residents in this area of the city.

Littleton Road Playing Fields, Littleton Road, SalfordFor many years the playing fields have provided an extremely popular venue for football. Due to the construction of a new flood relief scheme associated with the River Irwell, The Environment Agency in partnership with the Council and local football teams are in the process of building new pitches. It is likely that up to 9 full-size football pitches and some smaller 5-a-side pitches will be made available for use.
