Parks in Swinton

The Swinton area contains parks ranging from the traditional Public Park found at Victoria Park to the relatively modern Country Parks at Clifton and Forest Bank. Bowling greens, football pitches, rugby pitches, synthetic pitches, tennis courts, children's play areas, a bandstand and a variety of floral features can all be found.

Swinton Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton M27 5AP
Immediately outside the Civic Centre the attractive floral features and extensive lawns provide a setting for the Civic Centre and the Cenotaph. Throughout the year the gardens are used to host a variety of functions and activities. Visitor car parking is available.

Moorside Park/Beechfarm, Victoria Lane, Swinton M27 9LP
Providing opportunities to take part in bowling, football or even studying local wildlife, an active Friends group with the support of the council are providing many ideas on improving their park. The traditional Beechfarm area contains four  football pitches and changing rooms. Home to Moorside Rangers and Beechfield United football teams both clubs have agreed leases with the Council and built changing rooms, social clubs, a café and a gymnasium. Separated by a footpath that runs between Victoria Lane and Browning Road the Moorside Park area contains the bowling green and a variety of floral features.

Newtown Park, Lees Street, Pendlebury M27 6DB
Amongst the smallest parks within the city Newtown Park is an attractive and popular bowling green.

Victoria Park, Park Street, Swinton M27 4UR
Containing bowling greens, tennis courts, a bandstand and many attractive floral features, Victoria Park is amongst the most popular Public Parks within Salford. During the summer months the tennis courts are open between 10am and 9pm with tickets available from the Games Attendant. The many floral features include seasonal bedding displays, shrub beds and rose beds. The children’s play area is amongst the most popular features of the park. Located off the A666 adjacent to the Henry Boddingtons Public House the following facilities are available: 2 football pitches, 2 rugby pitches and a play area for 4-14 year olds.
