Services and charges
All library services and charges are effective from 1 February 2012.
These charges apply to all library users with the exception of young people under 16 and people who are 70 or over who are exempt from charges for overdue items.
- Books: Free for the first three weeks, 12p per day thereafter unless renewed
- DVDs: £1.50 per week, items returned late will be charged at 25p per day, in addition to the weekly charge
Maximum number of book and DVD renewals is three (requested items cannot be renewed)
- Requests for items in stock/on order: Free
- Requests for items not in stock/not on order: £3
- Requests for periodical articles: £3
- Requests for sets of plays: £15 per set (up to 20 copies, six month loan period)
Computers: Free usage
Computer printouts (A4 only):
- Black and white: 10p (homework - first three for 10p)
- Colour: 50p (homework - first three for 50p)
Photocopies (per page):
- A4: 10p
- A3: 20p
Fax:
- First sheet (including cover sheet): £1.50
- Following sheets: £1
- Incoming fax (per sheet): £1
There are fax machines at the following libraries:
Newspapers and magazines: Free to read in the library
Reading groups: Free to join
- Library members: £3.50
- Non library members: £5
Children's activities and storytimes:
Room hire (per hour):
- Community groups: £9.50
- Commercial organisations: £18
The following libraries have rooms available to hire:
- Little Hulton (capacity 35 people)
- Winton (capacity 60 people)
- Eccles (capacity 50 people)
- Worsley Village (capacity 50 people)
Lost/damaged membership cards:
- Adult: £2
- Under 16: First replacement card is free, subsequent cards cost £1
Lost/damaged items: Adults - charged at full replacement cost
