Looking for a job
From the cradle to the grave, we go through many stages of our lives, and these 'Life Events' pages provide links to guidance, advice and support to help you on your way
Whether you are looking for your first job, a change of career or returning to work, these pages can help you find the right job for you.
As one of the city's largest employers, Salford City Council has advertised vacancies on the web, updated every Thursday. Alternatively you can search from other local government sites or agencies:
- Skills and work connects Salford residents to jobs and training. It also provides advice and guidance on building your confidence and skills if you have been out of a job for a while.
- Salford City Council: for vacancies within the council
- LG Careers: The site contains profiles of most types of careers in local government, as well as guidance for new applicants
- Job Centre Plus: jobs, benefits, and advice for job seekers
- Worktrain: national jobs and learning site offering instant access to jobs and training opportunities across Britain
- Armchair Advice: Losing your job is often beyond your control. How you cope with it isn’t. Armchair Advice is the place to be if you are concerned about job loss through redundancy, job termination or unfair dismissal.
And if you're looking for work in other sectors or parts of the country, try the following job search sites:
