Equipment in the living room
Chair sensor

Put the pad either on your seat or under the cushion. When you get off the chair an alarm is sent to the carer alert. It can also be placed on wheelchairs.
Falls pendant

Wear the pendant around your neck during the daytime. If you fall, the pendant will know and, after a few seconds will send out an alarm to Care on Call or a warden. You can cancel the alarm at any time. You can also press the grey button in the pendant to send an alarm to wardens if you need help, even if you have not fallen.
Low temperature sensor

The sensor can be set to send an alarm when it reaches a certain temperature (generally 15°C).
Passive infrared detector (PIR)

The PIR automatically alerts Care on Call or your carer to call for help if you have not moved within a set time. It can also be set to detect activity (wandering) and will send a signal to the unit if this is the case.
Pill dispenser

When it is time to take your medication an alarm will sound and the dispenser will rotate inside to reveal your tablets reminding you to take them. In order to stop the alarm you must turn the dispenser over, which you will do to remove your tablets from the unit. When you have taken your tablets there will always be an empty space on show until it is time for your next dose. If you can't fill this unit yourself, you will have to rely on friends, neighbours or family members who will have to be able to do this long-term.
