Benefits for aged 60 plus
9.30am to 3.45pm
Dates
- Wednesday 1 October 2008
- Tuesday 10 February 2009
Background
Despite government take-up campaigns and more joint working between agencies, recent statistics show that the 60 plus age group are still not claiming all the benefits they are entitled to. On this course we examine why this might be and look at the benefits available.
Aims
To provide an overview of the range of benefits available to older people
To enable participants to identify unclaimed benefits and maximise income
Contents
- Retirement pension
- Attendance allowance, benefits for disabled pensioners and their carers
- Pension credit
- Winter fuel and cold weather payments
- How to claim and dealing with the Pensions Service
Suitable for
Health, social care staff, housing and voluntary organisation staff who need to know more about benefits for older people.
No prior knowledge needed.
