Registrar of Births, Marriages & Deaths: service standards
We have a very high standard of service delivery to our customers and the service standards which our customers can expect are as follows:-
- We will see all customers for birth, death, and marriage appointments within 10 minutes of their appointment if they arrive on time
- We will respond to correspondence within 2 days
- We will complete searches for genealogy within 3 days
- Our staff will deal with counter applications for birth, death, and marriage certificates within 20 minutes provided that accurate information is given
- From April 2004 you can apply for copy certificates by telephone or email and pay by debit/credit card. We will aim to send out the certificates on the same day.
- If you choose to marry at Salford Register Office (or at one of our Approved Premises) you can make your day extra special by personalising the ceremony to include readings or poetry and adding music.
- Our staff are trained to the highest standard and will be courteous and polite at all times.
- You will be given individual care and attention by our staff who will be wearing a name badge
- We will monitor our success in meeting our duty to you and record our performance standards. This information will be published on our web site every 12 months and displayed at the Register Office every 3 months.
- If our service to you does not meet your expectations or our service standards, we would welcome your views and comments. We have customer satisfaction forms in the office which you may complete and return in the confidential box located in the Reception Area. Alternatively, Salford City Council has a complaints procedure should our service not be satisfactory and you wish to make a formal complaint
