Important information for housing benefit customers and landlords

Customers and landlords who are expecting a housing benefit payment to be credited to their bank account on 7 July 2008, please note that this payment will be credited to their back account on 9 July 2008, the delay is due to unforeseen circumstances. If this will cause you difficulties please let is know.

Council tax is a local tax set by councils to help pay for local services like policing and refuse collection. It applies to all domestic properties, including houses, bungalows, flats, maisonettes, mobile homes or houseboats, whether owned or rented.

The services below are available to access online:

Queries regarding your account can be emailed to revenues@salford.gov.uk (please remember to quote your account number, if known).

Council tax payments can also be made through any Post Office, PayPoint or Payzone outlet in the U.K. Simply present your council tax bill at the counter and the clerk or retailer will scan the barcode on the bill to record your account details. A plastic payment card is no longer required to use this service. Please keep your receipt in a safe place.
