Who can apply for a Free Carers Leisure Pass?
Any adult carers who have had a 'Carers Assessment'. This includes parent carers of disabled children.
How do I apply for a Carers Leisure Pass?
First of all you will need to ask for a ‘Carers Assessment' from Salford City Council's Community Health and Social Care Directorate.
During the assessment, a social worker will ask you about the Leisure Pass and will help you fill in the application form. The will also tell you about other information or services that may be available to help you.
Is the Carers Leisure Pass means-tested?
No, the Carers Leisure Pass is not means-tested so you won’t be asked about your finances.
What else happens during a Carers Assessment?
During the assessment you will have the chance to talk in confidence about what you do as a carer and how it affects you. You can then look at what else could make life easier for you.
Terms and Conditions
The Carers Leisure Pass will be valid for six months with the possibility of extending it for a further six months. As funding for this project is strictly limited, if you find that, having been issued with a Carers Leisure Pass, you no longer wish or are unable to use it, please contact Salford Community Leisure on 0161 778 0369 so that arrangements can be made to give it to another carer. All passes are subject to sufficient funding being available.
