Salford Children's Fund is part of a government funded programme for 5 - 13 year olds at risk of social exclusion. Working towards achieving good outcomes for young people in line with Every Child Matters.
In Salford, the Children's Fund targets areas of the city which face particular disadvantage and groups of young people who are most commonly excluded from the benefits of public services. Services are provided by statutory, voluntary and community sector organisations through contracts. All services must include young people in planning and decision making.
Who are we?
- In Salford, the Chidlren's Fund is managed by the Prevention Strategy Team which works in partnership to promote earlier intervention
- Partners include Salford City Council, Greater Manchester Police, Salford Primary Care Trust, schools, local and national voluntary organisations, community groups and young people
- Activities are focused in Central Salford, Winton, Barton and Little Hulton
- We support more targeted activities in smaller estates: Duchy, Poets, Valley, Clifton and Mossvale

- Identify gaps in services
- Commission in collaberation with our partners
- Monitoring and oversee the contracts for all funded activities
- Contribute to research and best practice into what makes a difference for young people
