Drug and Alcohol Action Team
Salford Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) delivers the National Drug Strategy within Salford. It consists of senior representation from:
- Greater Manchester Police
- Salford City Housing
- Salford Community and Social Services
- Salford Education and Leisure
- Salford Crime and Disorder Partnership
- Greater Manchester Probation Service
- Bolton, Salford and Trafford Mental Health NHS Trust
- Forest Bank Prison
DAAT is chaired by the Director of Community, Health and Social Care and aims to deliver services in line with the four main strands of the national strategy:
- Adult treatment
- Young people
- Community
- Reducing supply
The DAAT has adopted the National Alcohol Harm Reduction Strategy.

The DAAT does not provide drug or alcohol treatment services.These are provided by other organisations which are commissioned by the DAAT.
