Day Services

We are developing a wide choice of health, work, education and leisure activities in our day services for people with a learning difficulty or physical disability. We support and enable people to achieve their dreams and to have full and meaningful lives.

Waterside

We provide day opportunities for adults with learning difficulties through the development of education, employment, arts/leisure and drama.

We support individuals to achieve their goals through person centred planning. We work with other organisations to develop a service that is person centred. We are committed to achieving this by developing partnerships with colleges, education & leisure directorate, drama groups, health services and community and voluntary organisations.

Day opportunities are being developed from four centres.

We provide a service to people who have high support needs and require a range of intensive therapies. This allows people with multiple disabilities to receive complex packages of care. We specialise in Total Communication, individual assessment and multi-sensory stimulation.

St Georges

We are developing community links through our pilot scheme on ‘social networks’ which offers opportunities for social integration within individuals’ own communities. This means that people can meet up in their local area. We also have taster sessions to try out a range of leisure activities and links to a company called 3D. 3D give opportunities in drama and a range of art, craft and music sessions. These take place in the centre

Craig Hall

We aim to provide and co-ordinate educational opportunities to help people supported get closer to mainstream education. We provide a range of learning experiences that support people to meet their personal development needs and we provide opportunities for life long learning.

We also run a scheme called ASDAN (Award Scheme Development Accreditation Network) which is a national, education scheme.

We also have a World of Work which offers work related experiences.

Throughout all our services we promote independence through advocacy, empowerment, decision making and choice.

There are also a number of day centres in Salford for people who have mental health needs.
