Housing for people with a learning difficulty

Our vision for housing and support says we want a future where:

- Adults with learning difficulties living in Salford will have a good quality of life.
- Live as valued members of the community.
- Live in housing of their choice.Choose support suitable to meet their needs.

We have a housing and support strategy which tells you our plans for the next 5 years (2007-2012), and how we will work together to make our vision happen. You can download the full version or the easy read version of the strategy from the bottom of this page.

If you would like more information about our strategy or the work we are doing to provide housing and support options for people with learning difficulties in Salford you can get in touch with:

Are you thinking about moving home now or in the future?
Would you like more information about what sort of housing is available for people with learning difficulties?
We have just put together two DVDs which tell you about two of our newest housing options.

- Pennine Court is an extra care housing scheme for people with learning difficulties who are growing older and who need extra support. People have their own flat, and there is a community room which can be used by everyone living at Pennine Court.

- Step Forward housing is for people who want to live in their own flat in the community but still have support from staff to help them live independently.
The DVDs tell you more about Pennine Court and Step Forward, so you can think about whether you would like to live in this type of housing. If you would like to see a copy of the DVD then you should contact the Learning Difficulty Service on 0161 607 6988.
