Planning services
One in five people living in Salford is 60 years old or more (census 2001) and it is vital that the right services, in the right place and at the right time, are available for older people. The NHS, Salford City Council, voluntary organisations and private organisations are working with older people to make sure that we develop these services.
In 2001 the Government published the National Service Framework for Older People which lays out how health and social care services for older people should be provided. In Salford, we developed a strategy for older people's services involving all the main statutory, voluntary and private sector organisations.
In Salford we believe in working closely with service users or customers, to make sure that we are planning and developing the services that they want. There are older people on our main planning groups such as the Partnership Board for Older People and the Older Peoples Development Board. You can download copies of their meetings below.
If you would like to become more involved in developing services, then you should contact Mary Murphy at Salford PCT
