Walkden Gateway Artwork

Artists Stella Corrall, Rob Vale and Stephen Charnock have been commissioned by Salford City Council and Salford PCT to make a piece of artwork for each of the Gateway Centres in Eccles, Pendleton and Walkden. The artists have run creative activities using film and animation and plastic to explore people’s ideas for the designs.
In Walkden the design is based on the DNA double helix, and reflects the idea that local people are the DNA that makes Walkden unique. It also demonstrates the intertwining of services in one building. It will incorporate new technology to share the words of local people.
