Aims:
To increase awareness of safety when administering medicines to individuals in a care environment, with the emphasis on sound, informed practice.
Learning outcomes:
- Relate how medicines should be supplied and have an increased awareness of safe storage and appropriate safe disposal of medicines
- Understand the issues to consider when administering medicines to individuals in a safe way, following the correct procedure.
- Know how to and why we maintain accurate records.
- Understand the accountability and responsibilities of yourself and others, and the importance of confidentiality
- Refer to Salford City Council’s revised Medication Policy.
