- Free smoke alarms
- Protection from fire for smokers with reduced mobility or those who are bed-fast
- Fire resistant bedding
- Free risk assessments
Diabetes - delivered by Jean Taylor, Salford Primary Care Trust
- What is diabetes
- Basic overview of the affects of glucose and insulin
- Effects of diabetes on the body
- Treatments
- Diet, exercise, tablets and effects of insulin injections
- Safety and awareness
- High and low blood glucose - how it is recognised and what can be done to help
Palliative Care - delivered by Cath Byrne, Salford Royal Hospitals NHS Foundation and Salford PCT
- Main elements of palliative care
- Needs of those who are terminally ill
- Improving communication skills with the terminally ill
- Overview of end of life care
- Services available in Salford
