Guidance to promote E-learning within your organisation

We understand that not everyone is confident about using a computer, and we are able to offer a number of different levels of IT courses (which also cover the use of e-learning) one of which is for complete beginners.
Access to a PC via the partnership
If your organisation experiences difficulty in identifying an appropriate PC with the required specification, you may be eligible to receive a PC for E-Learning purposes from the Salford Care Training Partnership.
If you would be interested in finding out more about this opportunity, please contact Jane Wright at the Staff Development Section to arrange a visit. Jane can meet with you at your organisation to discuss this and help you identify the best uses of ICT for your organisation.

Alternatively, if you are not able to site a PC within your establishment - don't forget that there are PCs available for E-Learning at St. James's House. To book a PC contact the Staff Development admin team on 0161 603 4185.
Research into e-learning in the social care sector
The Social Care Institute for Excellence have recently undertaken extensive research with Ipsos MORI to identify whether the social care sector in England is ready to maximise the learning opportunities available via e-learning.
The research study 'E-Readiness in the Social Care Sector' covers the following topics:
- What is e-learning?
- Is the workforce ready for e-learning?
- Increasing demand for e-learning
- Organisational 'e-readiness'
- The employer survey
- The staff research
- The way ahead - including making best use of the drivers and overcoming barriers to e-learning.
The report offers many suggestions as to how e-learning can most effectively be used in social care.
