Amadeus Care Home
The manager of Amadeus Care Home, Kathryn Hewitt, committed to achieving Investors in People (IIP) in January 2007, and enrolled on the Build a Better Business (BABB) workshops, which were held from January until May 2007.
Kathryn was an active member of the workshops, sharing her ideas and experiences with the group and using what she had learnt to implement within Amadeus with her team members. Her positive attitude towards the standard and enthusiastic implementation of lessons learned encouraged her team to become actively involved in the process.
In less than two months from the completion of the BABB workshops, Amadeus undertook a formal IIP assessment against the standard. In July 2007 they were recommended by their assessor to be recognised as an Investor in People organisation.
This is a fantastic achievement as they are the first organisation in the Salford Care Training Partnership to have competed the BABB workshops and then achieve IIP status in such a short period of time.
Kathryn’s supportive and proactive leadership style has resulted in benefits for Amadeus through the achievement and embedding of IIP principals; and has also benefitted the people that Amadeus provide a service for, as it shows they are a skilled, motivated and empowered team who have their residents needs at the heart of what they do, and strive to constantly improve how they do this - Congratulations to Kathryn and all the staff at Amadeus!
