NVQ Level 3 in Care
The NVQ Level 3 in Care Award is designed for people who often work without direct supervision or on their own. Ideally they should have supervisory responsibility or be involved in specialist tasks with some degree of responsibility or independence.
This award is particularly relevant to senior care workers, health care workers, home care organisors and community support workers.
It is very important that candidates meet the above criteria, otherwise they will find generating evidence for this award extremely difficult and it should be noted that if a candidate withdraws from this programme, there may be implications for the organisation.
The award consists of eight units:
4 core units
- Promote effective communication for and about individuals.
- Promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security in the working environment.
- Reflect on and develop your practice
- Promote choice, wellbeing and the protection of all individuals
Plus 4 optional units from a choice of 105 that cover a wide range of work roles across health and social care and includes specialised areas such as mental health and managing challenging behaviour. We recommend that candidates work closely with their supervisor and the training provider to ensure that their choice of optional units reflects their job description and job role.
For staff who are able to generate appropriate evidence for this award: please either complete the application form and send via the submit button, or download and complete the form and return it to the Staff Development Section.
