A free one day conference for professional staff who will be decision makers under the Mental Capacity Act 2005, with responsibility for assessing capacity.

Time of course: 9.00am registration for 9.30am start to 4.00pm
Venue: Broadwalk, 51 Belvedere Road, Salford M6 5EJ
Broadwalk Training Centre has level access, accessible toilet facilities and an Induction Loop system. Please let us know if you need any other facilities to enable you to participate in this event, for example large print etc.
Aims of the course:
The target group for this training will be mainly professionally qualified staff, where the Act will affect how they perform their duties. The target group includes social workers, CPN’s, Staff Nurses on inpatient units, senior managers, doctors, district nurses, practice nurses and allied health professionals. Residential homeowners and homecare managers in the independent sector
The aims and objectives of the training is to:
- Advise key staff on the implications of the Mental Capacity Act and the impact of the Act on their practice.
- Enable key staff to understand their legal responsibilities as Decision Makers under the Mental Capacity Act.
- Enable key staff to define their roles and responsibilities as a result of the Mental Capacity Act.
Refreshments: Refreshments and a buffet lunch will be provided which will include vegetarian options.
Please note: Completion of this form is not a guarantee of a place on this course. Individuals will be contacted to confirm bookings within 2 weeks of applying and written confirmation of your place will be sent via email, nearer to the date of the conference.
If you do not receive notification of confirmation of your place, please do not turn up on the day. Numbers are restricted, and only participants with confirmed places will be accepted.
