National Minimum Data Set for social care
The National Minimum Data Set for social care (NMDS-SC) is an agreed set of questions designed to ensure that every social care employer provides information on their workforce in a consistent format across the country.
The NMDS-SC data will influence future funding for Salford including money for training programmes.
For all organisations accessing NVQ awards, including Induction and LDQ through the Salford Care Training Partnership, it is a condition that partners have completed the National Minimum Data Set for Social Care establishment data.
In addition partners who hold a National Minimum Data Set - Social Care reference number as a result of having completed the National Minimum Data Set - Social Care questionnaire before the 1st April 2008 must fully update their establishment data before accessing training. This can be done via the
National Minimum Data Set - Social Care website. Skills for Care will no longer accept paper based returns. We can arrange for access to one of our PC's for organisations requiring this support.
We would recommend that all partners organistations also complete employee data.
If you have any queries about National Minimum Data Set - Social Care please contact the National Minimum Data Set - Social Care helpdesk on 0845 8730129
The second set of statistics specifically relating to the North West are now available (see below). The online system has now been launched which enable's organisations to update the information 'as you go'. We are encouraging organisations who have not yet completed the 'Employee' section of the NMDS-SC to do so, as this will give us a great deal of necessary information to assist in workforce planning.
The Skills for Care web pages now include interesting 'first findings' from the briefing paper, and this is definitely worth a read.
For any organisation who has not yet completed, or requires further support, please contact Jane.wright@salford.gov.uk.
