Seedley and Langworthy

Seedley and Langworthy In Bloom group

Seedley and Langworthy forms part of the Manchester Salford Housing Market Renewal Pathfinder, (MSP). The area is comprised of approximately 3,200 households and is being transformed by creating attractive neighbourhoods of choice where people want to live not leave.

Historically the area was subject to SRB (Single Regeneration Budget) funding. The programme ran for seven years from 1999-2006.

The area was designated as one of Salford’s Areas of Major Change and is a key priority for investment in the city.  Through a range of pioneering and exciting, award winning regeneration projects such as the Homeswap scheme, the Seedley and Langworthy Partnership are driving forward physical regeneration including a number of private developments.

The physical programme includes:

Private Developments include:

The area has been turned around from one where hundreds of residents were leaving and whole streets lay derelict, to one where the community has won numerous awards, house prices are rising and award winning developers want to invest.

The Seedley and Langworthy Partnership Board has continued post SRB and many of the task groups have also been integrated into the Ordsall and Langworthy Neighbourhood Management structure and through Community Committee residents will still have the opportunity to get involved in planning local services.
