Home Insulation & Renewable Energy Rebate Scheme

Do you want £50 off your council tax bill and help save the environment?

We are committed to improving the energy efficiency of all homes in the city and have teamed up with British Gas who are investing over £1,000m over the next 3 years in helping the nation's homes to be more energy efficient.

One of the easiest ways to make a substantial difference to your home and ultimately your pocket is to ensure your home is fully insulated. Insulating your home's cavity walls and loft can save you up to £412* on your annual fuel bill.

To encourage homeowners and private landlords to install home insulation we are offering owners taking advantage of this scheme a £50 council tax rebate to your council tax account.

You do not need to be a British Gas customer to benefit from this initiative. To find out more contact British Gas' Call Centre on: 0845 971 7731 and quoting reference: SAL-CT.

So how much will it cost?

Example of House type: 3 Bed Semi Standard Price from British Gas Average Annual savings on Energy Bills
Cavity Insulation £250 £173
Full Insulation £274 £239
Both £524 £412

What's next after home insulation?

In addition to offering home insulation, British Gas are also offering all of our residents with private homes Solar Thermal Hot Water and Solar Photovotaic Panels. These are renewable energy measures which will help reduce your fuel bills and your carbon emissions.

If you would like to find out more about these technologies contact British Gas' Call Centre on: 0845 971 7731 quoting reference: SAL-CT.
