Salford's approach to Licensing
Salford City Council has welcomed the provisions introduced under the Housing Act 2004 and fully intends to use the powers that are available to us.
Salford is working closely with all parties that have affected by the introduction of licensing, which includes:
- Working In Partnership with Manchester City Council
- Development of Landlord Licensing Working Group
- Links with the Landlord Accreditation Scheme
- Quarterly Landlord Forum, in conjunction with Landlord Accreditation and Local Housing Allowance Teams
- Regular updates at Community Committee meetings
- Presentations given at Peoples Forum
- Involvement with Tenant Representative meetings
The Landlord Licensing Team have also produced a number of leaflets which are available to download from this page. These leaflets provide landlords, residents and tenants with guidance on the licensing schemes and the production of the newsletter is used to provide up to date information on both the Mandatory and Selective Licensing Schemes which have been introduced in Salford.
To find out more information about Landlord Licensing, please contact the Landlord Licensing Team on 0161 793 3344 or email us at landlord.licensing@salford.gov.uk.
