Teenage Pregnancy
In Salford the issue of teenage pregnancy higher than most places in England. The council is working with its strategic partners in the city to reduce teenage pregnancies
If you are teenager who thinks you might be pregnant or you are worried about this, it is important that you obtain help and support to allow you to make the right choices about what to do next.
There are a number of people or places you can turn to. You may want to confide in a partner, friend or family member. Free pregnancy tests are available from your GP, KISS young people sexual health clinics. Brook is a good starting point as these professionals can offer you lots of advice and information on your options.
If you think you may be pregnant and want support, the council's Teenage Pregnancy Team are based at the Ante-natal Clinic at Hope Hospital and can be contacted by emailing gina.lavin@srht.nhs.uk (0161-206 4472).
