Heritage and conservation

Conservation officers in Salford work to preserve and enhance the heritage found within the built environment.
It is an exciting time for Salford:
- Many derelict and listed buildings are being repaired and re-used.
- Local people are seeking new and extended conservation areas.
- Successful lottery bids have allowed important listed buildings and their settings to be renovated or improved.
- Large amounts of archaeological remains have been recovered and studied after agreements through planning conditions have been secured.
