Local Development Framework

This page is the link to the documents that make up Salford’s Local Development Framework (LDF). It lists the documents that are currently in production or the ones we have adopted under the 2004 Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act. Documents currently available or in development are:
Local Development Scheme
The Local Development Scheme sets out the planning policy documents the city council proposes to produce over the next three years. It contains a profile of each document and a timetable for their production. The current LDS was approved in September 2008 and covers the period 2008/9 to 2010/11. This came into effect on 3 October 2008.
Annual Monitoring Report
The Annual Monitoring Report is published in December each year and monitors the effectiveness of the planning policies and proposals.
Core Strategy
The Core Strategy will set out the vision, objectives and spatial development framework for the city.
Statement of Community Involvement
The Statement of Community Involvement sets out the city council’s approach to public participation in the planning processes. The document was adopted in March 2008.
Development Plan Documents
Development Plan Documents will provide the planning policy framework for the city. A list of documents in preparation is provided.
Supplementary Planning Documents
Supplementary Planning Documents provide further planning policy guidance in relation to specific issues or areas of the city. A list of the documents in production or adopted is provided.
