Worsley and Boothstown
There are a number of key regeneration projects in the Worlsey and Boothstown Community Committee area:
- Worsley and Boothstown is one of the five community committee areas included in the Salford West Strategic Regeneration Framework and Action Plan. The framework will drive investment across the area for the next 20 years, influencing public and private sector investment, attracting new investment to the area. Actions include: the development of Salford West as a visitor detsination, particularly in regards to the rich heritage around Worlsey and Boothstown; improvng the accessibility of the Bridgewater Canal; building on the successful events and festivals program across the area and spreading the success of high quality neighbourhoods.
- Work is ongoing to preserve and maintain Old Warke Dam. Silt traps have been fitted in the area and ecological surveys will be continuing throughout the year.
- A proposal by Peel Holdings to develop the Salford Forest Park racecourse is currently being reviewed by the Highways Agency.
