The Liverpool Road Corridor (Cadishead to Eccles) Strategy & Action Plan

Crown Hall Liverpool Road

The Liverpool Road Corridor is an important transport route which starts in Cadishead and goes all the way into Manchester. The six mile stretch between Cadishead and Eccles Town Centre is currently the focus of attention for regeneration.

In its formative years the Liverpool Road Corridor was much more vibrant. It was home to major employers, thriving shops and other facilities serving local communities. However, the decline of traditional industries, changes in people’s shopping habits, and increased volumes of traffic have meant that sections of the corridor have deteriorated and are need of substantial regeneration.

A Ten Year Strategy & Action Plan has been developed through a series of consultations with local communities, strategic partners, elected members and the private sector. There was a real strong community spirit within the different neighbourhoods to revitalise and regenerate the corridor to portray the real image of Salford. The consultations built upon the in depth analysis of local data and led to the Vision and detailed area action plans

The strategy will be an integral part of the overarching Salford West Strategic Regeneration Framework and Action Plan.
