Secondary Schools

We provide lessons, teacher advice and support as well as resources on environmental subjects such as recycling, waste, litter, as well as advice to schools on environmental management.

Lessons/visits

The team can provide lessons tailored specifically for Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 in the following subjects - Geography, Science and Citizenship. We also offer support, teacherpacks, educational resources as well as support with ecoschools.

The team have also produced an Educational DVD about Environmental Crime called Consequences Faerie. This was produced with young people from Irlam and is suitable for students Year 6 and above.

Environmental Crime Education

High Schools are increasingly experiencing problems associated with litter, to combat this we need to encourage young people to take an active role in their environment. The team provide a full education programme to High Schools.

Assemblies

We provide a 15 to 20 minute assembly showcasing our Environmnetal Crime DVD 'Consequences Faerie', followed by presentation by the team and an Environmental Enforcement Officer. Young people are told of the dangers associated with Environmental crime, the process of receiving a fixed penalty notice and the consequences that can result.

Litter picks

To reinforce the message given in the assemblies we provide schools with the equipment and staff to conduct their own litterpicks. We also supply the school with information cards that can be posted throughout the community notifying them of the schools efforts.

All activities are available to colleges and community groups
