Wendy Guest
There is more to the job of an Environmental Health officer than you would think! Wendy Guest is seen on Life of Grime helping to organise a Curry Chef competition - but she is more interested in Health and Safety than food inspection.
She spends most of her time inspecting premises, investigating accidents and dealing with complaints, and finds the work very interesting.
Wendy has recently taken over from a colleague responsibility for asbestos problems in the city - ensuring the safe removal of asbestos and protecting the employees who carry out the work.
"You would think in this day and age that there would be few buildings with asbestos, but there have been three reports in just a few days - so I'm going to be busier than I thought on this aspect of my work."
If you require more information about the work of the health and safety team, please phone 0161 793 2010.
