Ian Royle
Ian "Ronnie" Royle thoroughly enjoyed his '15 minutes of fame' when he starred in the Life of Grime series. "It was a chance for people to see what we do for a living and to show the human face of the Council,"
Ian has been with the Council for 11 years and as a Graffiti Operative and he spends his working day removing the evidence of people's thoughtlessness - and it's no easy task. The teams often get wet and cold - but believe that what they do makes a difference and as helped make the city a more attractive place.
But being a star is not without risks - he was almost arrested by police in body armour when the BBC crew tried to film him removing graffiti from a pub in the city.
