Information for Road Users
Our roads are getting busier; vans and lorries are on the increase, the popularity of motorcycling is growing, more people than ever now own cars and more and more households own two or more vehicles. It has been a long time since the car was seen as a luxury item - for most it has become an essential.
- Nearly ten people die every day on Britain’s roads
Many of these deaths could be avoided if we all took more care to protect ourselves, our passengers, other motorists, cyclists, pedestrians and each other.
The following pages give tips and advice for all road users on how to stay safe. Some of the advice is well known such as “Belt up in the Back” but some advice is less well known.
