Crimestoppers in Salford: How it can help you
Salford Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership is committed to reducing the risk and fear of crime in Salford. We are confident that Crimestoppers has an active role to play in these reductions and we are therefore promoting its benefits across the city. Some of our activities include:
- The design and distribution of the Crimestoppers Advertiser
- Working with a number of secondary schools to raise pupil awareness of Crimestoppers by creating a Crimestopper rap song. The group of year 8 Hope High students from Salford were given the challenge of producing the song to advertise Crimestoppers.

Rap song produced by the Hope High students:
Lyrics
If you’ve got it on your mind and want it gone
Call
0800 triple 5 triple 1
The invisible people are on the line
To stop people
dealing crime
Don’t do the drugs
Don’t follow
the thugs
Don’t do the crime
If you can’t do the time
D
to the R to the U G S
Don’t deal this cos you’ll end up a mess
See those
people dealing crime and drugs
They act like citizens but they are thugs
Don’t need to give you name or age
Your
details will remain on a plain blank page
You don’t have to look far to see crime, whether it’s on the news or in the newspaper. It could be something as simple as a smashed up phone box, or it could be a lot worse. Crimestoppers are not part of the police, but an independent charity. We do work with them, just as we work with business, media, schools, youth groups and the local community for a common goal: a safer, fairer society.
Call 0800 555 111 if you have information about crime or criminal activities and wish to report it anonymously. Alternatively, please fill in the CrimeStoppers online form. We don’t want to know your name or where you live. Your call cannot be traced or recorded. You won’t have to give a statement or go to court. The only person who knows that you’ve called is you!
