What are we doing
The focus of the programme in Salford will be to offer the following:
- Additional parenting provision to help support and educate parents whose children are known to be committing anti-social behaviour;
- Additional support for families at risk of losing their tenancy due to anti-social behaviour through an Assisted Families Project (Assfam);
- Regular face-the-people meetings in the form of a Roadshow, to give members of the public the opportunity to discuss problems of anti-social behaviour in their community with senior officers from the police and Salford City Council;
- A new focus on social landlords and their responsibilities in dealing with anti-social tenants through the Standard for Housing Management;
- A renewed commitment to the proportionate use of enforcement tools and powers in tackling anti-social behaviour.
Salford city council will also be responding to problems that are highlighted by members of the community (for example, off-road vehicle nuisance) or that are seasonal in nature (such as the misuse of fireworks).
