Parenting
We recognise that ineffective parenting can sometimes be a cause of children and young people behaving in an anti-social way. As such, we are committed to offering parents across the city help and support when required.
Parents are the major influence on their children's behaviour and play a major role in promoting positive behaviour and tackling anti-social behaviour.Good parenting is really important in determining children's life chances, acting as a protection against poverty, social exclusion, poor academic attainment as well as crime and anti-social behaviour.
Salford is currently in the process of developing a Parenting Strategy for the city, which is due to be published in April 2008. To support this, we are also bringing new parenting experts into Salford to coordinate and deliver parenting support across the city.
Salford Youth Offending Service currently offer holistic support for parents.
