Better Together

Celebrating Diversity, Challenging Discrimination
News for you
Our theme for 2008 is:
"For All Families Great and Small"
“Whatever you or I can do alone, I believe we can do better together.”
Rev. Henry Martin
“Again this year we are celebrating how diverse our community is. A series of events and activities under the banner of Better Together are being staged across the patch.
East Salford is a fascinating and wonderful place to live, but at times, some of us may face issues or problems because of who we are or where we live. We can resolve to face them, and so often we try alone, or as just a couple of small groups.
Read on if you want to get involved by doing something in the coming new year, even if it’s showcasing the good work of a group you’re involved in already, then we’d love to hear from you!
Better Together’s aim:
- To celebrate communities in Salford.
Better Together’s objectives
- To share and explore the different communities and cultures that makes up East Salford.
- To develop learning about others.
- To celebrate our differences in a fun and involving way.
We want to celebrate all the communities of East Salford, The aim is to get different parts of the community together that maybe don’t get to meet, to breakdown barriers and to get people talking and of course, to have fun.
Better Together activities have included:
- Community Ready Steady Cook, workshops for Refugee Week - 17 June 2008
- Black History Month - October 2008

You can do something!
We will provide a range of groups with small pots of funding to do something under the Better Together banner to support groups like yours.
