About the area
Worsley & Boothstown is situated on the western edge of the city of Salford, bordered by the East Lancashire Road (A580) to the north and Bridgewater Canal to the south. This is the most prosperous service delivery area in Salford, a very stable, attractive and highly desirable residential area.
A significant amount of agricultural land and open land is situated in the Boothstown area that forms part of the ‘Green Belt’.
The area is characterised by a growing middle aged population with high economic activity rates and the lowest unemployment rates in the city. It has high levels of educational attainment and low levels of poor health and lone parent families.
Overall crime levels in Worsley and Boothstown are generally low compared to the rest of Salford although there is local concern about the incidence of vehicle crime and burglary.
