Salford neighbours day
This year, Salford City Council helped residents to celebrate Salford Neighbours’ Day 2008.
European Neighbours' day is an annual event that takes place at the end of May throughout Europe. It aims to encourage neighbours to meet and get to know each other better by arranging street parties, fun days or any events that bring people together.
This year Salford trialled a pilot scheme to coincide with European Neighbours' Day to support residents to get together within the neighbourhood areas of East Salford, Ordsall and Langworthy, and Eccles.
30 grants of up to £200 were awarded to groups across East Salford, Ordsall and Langworthy and Eccles to help them celebrate Salford Neighbour Day which was held on the 27th May.
Funding was granted for a range of exciting and varying activities and celebrations to help bring neighbours together.
