Salford Icons
ICONS is a project by ICONS Online, a not-for-profit organisation whose aim is to develop projects that provide stimulating interactive ways of exploring different cultural landscapes. It is planned that ICONS will be a rich resource of material about life and our cultural heritage and will create a 'portrait of England'.
What is an icon?
It may be a special place, a favourite food, a book, a famous painting or a particular piece of music.
How do icons get nominated?
Anyone can nominate an icon via the ICONS website. An advisory board will go through the nominations received and decide which are to be featured on the site. The public can then vote for or against an icon or post a comment.
