Definitions for each of these local standards are available in Salford Greenspace Strategy Supplementary Planning Document. This document also identifies existing sites that meet one or more of the local standards and proposed sites to be improved.

When funding is available, such as contributions that developers are required to make when building new housing, the city council are committed to improving greenspaces. The quantity and quality of greenspace will be monitored and the greenspace standards will be amended when necessary to reflect the changing needs and demands of the population of the city.
