  • All households should be within 500 metres walking distance of a Local Natural Greenspace (LNGS)
  • All households should be within 2,000 metres walking distance of a Strategic Natural Greenspace (SNGS)

  • At least 0.92 hectares of sports pitches (a new local standard from the Playing Pitch Assessment 2007 replacing the previous standard of 0.73 hectares) should be provided per 1,000 population across the city.

Definitions for each of these local standards are available in Salford Greenspace Strategy Supplementary Planning Document. This document also identifies existing sites that meet one or more of the local standards and proposed sites to be improved.
