Olympic football at Old Trafford
Old Trafford is one of six stadia in the UK chosen to host games during the men's and women's Olympic football competition. Nine games will be held at Old Trafford, on seven different days:
- Thursday 26 July 2012, 5.00pm: United Arab Emirates v Uruguay (preliminary round, men)
- Thursday 26 July 2012, 7.45pm: Great Britain v Senegal (preliminary round, men)
- Sunday 29 July 2012, 12.00 noon: Brazil v Belarus (preliminary round, men)
- Sunday 29 July 2012, 2.45pm: Egypt v New Zealand (preliminary round, men)
- Tuesday 31 July 2012, 5.15pm: USA v North Korea (preliminary round, women)
- Wednesday 1 August 2012, 5.00pm: Spain v Morocco (preliminary round, men)
- Saturday 4 August 2012, 12.00 noon (quarter-final, men)
- Monday 6 August 2012, 7.45pm (semi-final, women)
- Tuesday 7 August 2012, 7.45pm (semi-final, men)

Salford City Council is working closely with Trafford Council and Manchester City Council on the operational details of these games to ensure that they run as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
Traffic and road closures
On matchdays, a number of roads will be closed or have parking restrictions. Though most of these fall in Trafford, the knock-on effect caused by matchday traffic may affect Salford residents and businesses.
