Mayor's Charity Appeal
The Mayor, Councillor George Wilson, is supporting the following charities during his term of office.
The Salfordian Trust
This hotel is run by the Salfordian Trust and provides holiday breaks, primarily for older residents of Salford, although other guests are also welcome. The hotel can cater for guests with limited or impaired mobility, however it should be noted that there is no nursing or medical care.
Salford Children's Holiday Camp
This holiday camp was established in 1926 and is a voluntary funded charity supported by Salford City Council and its employees. Each year many children, who may not otherwise get the chance of a holiday, stay at the camp.
The Inter Link Foundation
This foundation supports the Orthodox Jewish Voluntary Action, particularly those who are socially and / or economically disadvantaged (mainly in Salford, but they cover throughout the Greater Manchester and Northwest Region). Their mission is to strengthen the Orthodox Jewish Voluntary Action creating better services for the community. They do this by helping organisations to gain new skills and to link them into wider partnerships, resources and opportunities available to non-profit organisations.
