Mr Mayor's diary

Monday 7 November 2011

Today I had my regular mayoral briefing followed by the Council Agenda Setting group.

Tuesday 8 November 2011

A free day.

Wednesday 9 November 2011

We had some free time during the day prior to our visit to the Jewish Museum at Cheetham Hill. It is a very interesting museum and well worth a visit.

Thursday 10 November 2011

An early start today as we attended a coffee morning organised by the League of Jewish Women at the Manchester Reform Synagogue, Jacksons Row. Late afternoon we were at the Whitworth Hall for the Gypsy, Roma, Traveller, Showman achievement awards event. This consisted of myself and the Lord Mayor of Manchester handing out certificates to the children. In the evening we were guests of Salford City College for a performance of "Jekyll and Hyde" the musical. What talent we have in the city.

Friday 11 November 2011

This morning we were at Agecroft Cemetery for the three remembrance services we perform annually on this date. They are performed at the war graves, the public memorial and the memorial to the crew of the Lancaster bomber which crashed on its way home.

Saturday 12 November 2011

This morning we attended a civic and memorial service at the South Manchester Synagogue, Bowden. In the afternoon we attended a Christmas Flower Arrangement demonstration at the Robert Powell theatre. In the evening we were back at the Cavendish Suite on Oldham Road for an awards ceremony for Asian Diaspora Achievers.

Sunday 13 November 2011

Remembrance Sunday. I attended the service at the Crescent whilst the Mayoress attended and laid the civic wreath at Little Hulton. Afterwards we accepted the annual invitation to Haldene Barracks and lunch.
