Who are the MediaCityUK Public Sector Partners?
The Public Sector Partners are Salford City Council, Central Salford Urban Regeneration Company and Northwest Regional Development Agency.
Public Sector Partners Vision
To maximise the investment and opportunities presented by MediaCityUK to ensure it meets its ambition to become a globally significant media city with visible, long term benefits for the people living and working in Salford, the Northwest and beyond.
The Public Sector Partners programme aims to achieve this through leading and co-ordinating partnerships with a range of public and private organisations and community groups.
The programme
The PSP programme is based around three areas:
Place - supporting the development of the MediaCityUK physical site and transport infrastructure.

Examples of areas of work include:
- developing and funding the new Metrolink tram stop
- new bus routes to connect up MediaCityUK with the wider city and city region
- developing the area as a visitor destination
- operational support for MediaCityUK (security, events, licensing etc)
Sector and economy - using MediaCityUK as a catalyst to grow the digital and creative industries and developing relevant skills throughout the Northwest.
Examples of areas of work include:
- innovation projects such as FIRM, Games Centre of Excellence
- workforce development including further and higher education and apprenticeship schemes
- sector training and skills opportunities
- inward investment and business support.
People and communities - using MediaCityUK to increase aspirations and opportunities for local people by delivering community benefits, linking education and jobs, and exploiting regeneration opportunities.

Examples of areas of work include:
- helping local people into job opportunities
- extensive schools programme of media related activities
- presence at community events to raise awareness of MediaCityUK
- support for BBC staff moving north
- community media groups support - i.e. CRIS, Radio Regen, etc
