Metrolink
The Metrolink light rail system runs through Salford from Eccles to Manchester Piccadilly Station. The Eccles line currently has nine stops with a service frequency of 12 minutes, Monday to Saturday. There are currently three lines running from Altrincham, Bury and Eccles to Manchester city centre with four extensions currently under construction.Information including tram stops, fares and timetables is available on the Metrolink website or by contacting Customer Services on 0161 205 2000.
Future Metrolink
New extensions to Chorlton, Droylsden, MediaCityUK and Oldham and Rochdale are under construction with future extensions funded to Ashton-under-Lyne, East Didsbury, Manchester Airport and Oldham and Rochdale town centres. These future lines will increase the amount of trams in Manchester city centre requiring a second route through Manchester city centre.

MediaCityUK
A 0.4 kilometre extension now connects the MediaCityUK development to the Eccles line, and the wider Metrolink network. The new route joins the Eccles line near the Broadway stop. The extension has been jointly funded by Salford City Council and the North West Regional Development Agency.
