Alcohol strategy agreed
Salford has agreed a new local alcohol strategy for 2008-2011.
The strategy sets out how the City Council, Primary Care Trust and their partners, including Police and Probation, will tackle alcohol misuse in the City over the next three years.
The strategy aims to reduce the harm caused by alcohol, including harm associated with crime, health, the economy and family and social networks.
Within the local strategy there are 4 key objectives:
- To ensure that those who drink alcohol in Salford are able to do so safely and responsibly
- To reduce the impact of alcohol on ill-health and life expectancy
- To reduce the impact of alcohol-related crime and anti-social behaviour
- To reduce the harm caused to children and young people by alcohol use
