Free community newsletter
A free community newsletter for the Little Hulton and Walkden area is produced every quarter. If you have an item for inclusion, please send an email to the newsletter submission team for more information.

Training
Free basic computer training
We offer a range of training courses to allow you to gain confidence in using a computer. It may be you want to learn something for self interest or as a way of gaining new skills towards improved employment opportunities. The training is given in a relaxed and informal way. You can use our computers for extra practice to back up your computer course.
Training courses include:
Basic introduction to computers and information and communication technology (ICT); learn the basics from turning a computer on, joining the 'Go-On' community, setting up a free email address, setting up a Salford Customer Account and going online on the internet. This course lasts eight weeks at two hours per session.
Chargeable courses
- Basic introduction to Adobe Photoshop Elements; learn how to digitally repair old photos, remove unwanted people from photos, cancel out red eye or colourise black and white images
- Introduction to digital photography; learn the basics of taking photographs as well as what some of the settings on your camera do
- Advanced Photoshop; learn some of the indepth techniques as used by the professionals. We do request that you complete our basic introduction to Photoshop prior to enrolling for the Advanced Photoshop course
- Training in Photoshop is available to organisations and may be delivered on a bespoke basis. It may be done as one to one sessions, (perhaps as part of a CPD requirement) or to a number of learners as a group. We also offer Photoshop and digital photography training packages for school children of nine years and older. These packages are chargeable
All our training is done either as a one to one session or in a small group of six maximum. The training is of an informal nature at an easy to follow pace.
We also offer training on an outreach basis to community groups, resident and tenant associations and sheltered accomodation schemes, please contact David Begley at the One Stop Shop on 0161 779 8089 for further information.
Resources available
We have faxing, laminating, scanning, spiral binding and professional colour printing facilities available (A6 to A3 sizes). Small charges apply depending on usage/quantity.
We also offer a professional graphic design service too for poster, flyer, business card and leaflet design together with web design for local businesses. These are chargeable services.

The Neighbourhood Management Team for Little Hulton and Walkden is made up of the Neighbourhood Manager, the Community Development Officer, the Admin Officer to the Neighbourhood Manager and the Trainee Neighbourhood Assistant.
