Ordsall Hall's two year closure
Ordsall Hall is now closed for two years until 2011. Whilst it is sad that this magnificent building has to close for a while, there are exciting times ahead as there are plans in place to make it a bigger and better visitor experience for all the family. A major restoration and development project will commence in Spring 2009. Plans have been drawn up around the landscape, audience development activities and the restored hall's room layout and exhibition design.
Many of the areas currently inaccessible to the general public, will be opened up so that much more of the hall will be enjoyed by today's visitors and generations to come!
Plans for the hall include:
- Restoration and conservation works
- Access improvements to open up more of the hall to all
- A dedicated learning room
- Beautifully landscaped grounds
- Improved interpretation and exciting interactive exhibitions
- A full training and volunteer programme
You can find out more, read the latest news and follow the progress of the Extraordinary Ordsall Development Programme restoration project at the new Ordsall Hall website.
